Whether you are chronicling a bold adventure, or quietly sketching at home, this journal will remind you of a city you love. We hand select each hide from Seidel Tannery, etch the leather with 1912 map of Portland, Oregon, stitch and finish it in our studio.
This journal is made of full-grain leather, and closes securely with a solid brass Sam Browne closure. It includes a lined Moleskine notebook which can be replaced again and again. It’s a long-lasting gift for the artist, writer, or adventurer in your life.
*As we make each item by hand with natural materials, there may be slight variations in your journal from the product that is pictured. Unless otherwise specified, all items are made to order. Please allow 1-2 weeks for shipping.*

Oh La La! It’s gorgeous! Some day I hope to visit Paris…that’s my dream. In the meantime to remind me daily of The City of Light, I have this incredible, etched-leather journal depicting Paris, France 1878 with River Seine running through it. The included lined-Moleskine notebook will hold my writings and is easily replaced when filled. Merci Beaucoup, Sarah & Anna!
P.S. I am thinking of a Yellowstone and/or Kings Canyon/Sequoia Map Journal for a future order.
Received quickly after ordering, my Tokyo Map Journal is stunning! Beautifully etched with an 1888 map to Tokyo, Japan and sporting a genuine brass closure atop. Inside was a lined Moleskine notebook which I will use at a later date because I replaced it with a Moleskine Sketchbook for my artwork. I have been to Tokyo twice so this leather journal is a wonderful reminder of my visits. Thank you, Tactile Craftworks!
Crazy nice. Beautiful. Leathercraft is on point. Also, I ordered the Wednesday b4 mothers day and got it Saturday. Saved my arse. Hollar
I got this as a gift for my son to celebrate his new job in Detroit. We were so impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the level of detail in the map! In addition, the customer service is outstanding! Highly recommend this item and this company!
Not only are Sarah, and Anna two of the most creative people I know, they are extremely hard working and attentive to every detail.
I get so many compliments on my journal. Very proud to have been a small part of what they have accomplished.
You'd be hard pressed to find more dedicated craftspeople.
